Paramedic Field Supervisor at Enloe Medical Center – Chico, California

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Paramedic Field Supervisor is a licensed professional who assists the Ambulance Manager, Director of Emergency Services with the coordination and supervision of the day-to-day ambulance service operations. Must work collaboratively with MedCom. Must have a well-developed understanding and experience of system-wide EMS operations as well as clinical skill and judgment and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must collaborate with the sending/receiving facilities to support the interface of pre-hospital with the hospitals we serve.

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
Minimum:
- Hazardous Materials training to the First Responder Operations Level prior to the conclusion of department orientation.

Desired:
- Five years experience in the prehospital setting.
- Charge Paramedic experience
- A.S. degree in health related field

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
Minimum:
- Accredited by the Sierra Sacramento Valley Emergency Medical Services to function as a Paramedic in the region.
- Current CPR recognition
- Current ACLS recognition
- Current PALS or Handtevy Prehospital Pediatric Provider recognition within 6 months of hire
- California drivers license with ambulance driver's certificate to include medical exam certificate. (tracked by dept)
- Eligible to be insured under the Medical Center's Liability Policy with DMV Report (and minimum age 21)
- The employee will obtain the following certifications within 24 months (tracked by department):
S-330 Strike Team and Task Force Leader
S-339 Division and Group Supervisor
R-150 Management of EMS
R-151 Advanced Leadership Issues in EMS
NAEMD Certification
- Current AMLS within 6 months of hire (current Enloe employees have until 9/1/2024 to obtain)
- PHTLS within 6 months of hire
- EVOC within 6 months of hire
- Course instructor for at least one of the following: CPR, ACLS, AMLS, PHTLS, Handtevy, PALS or Stop the Bleed within 12 months of hire (current Enloe employees have until 9/1/24 to obtain)
- ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700 and 800 within 6 months of hire (current Enloe employees have until 2/29/2024 to obtain)

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
Must demonstrate technical competence, professional clinical judgment, communication skills and sensitivity for the patient and family in crisis. Must be able to work effectively with peers, other departments, first responders and the public using good interpersonal skills, discretion and diplomacy. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position. Within six months of appointment the employee must have practical knowledge of basic ambulance billing, basic ambulance billing guidelines, private insurance billing guidelines and private pay requirements. They must also have an understanding of Medcom functionality to include the CAD system, the Radio System and posting and standardized response plan.
