This role sits at the intersection of public accounting and the fast-moving technology sector, offering the opportunity to lead audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of SaaS, PaaS, and high-growth tech companies. You will manage end-to-end audit processes while acting as a trusted advisor to clients navigating complex accounting standards, investor readiness, and evolving regulatory requirements. The environment is highly collaborative and client-facing, with significant exposure to startups as well as companies preparing for acquisition or funding events. You will work closely with senior leadership while guiding teams through planning, execution, and delivery of high-quality audit work. This is a role for someone who enjoys both technical depth and relationship-building. You will also contribute to internal training and thought leadership within a growing technology-focused practice.
You will oversee audit engagements end-to-end while managing teams, supporting clients, and ensuring high-quality delivery across multiple technology-focused clients.
- Lead and manage audit, review, and compilation engagements across multiple client accounts and teams.
- Oversee all phases of audit execution including planning, staffing, risk assessment, fieldwork, reporting, and final delivery.
- Partner with senior managers, directors, and partners on audit strategy, risk evaluation, and technical accounting matters.
- Provide performance feedback and mentorship to audit teams at the conclusion of engagements.
- Research and resolve complex accounting issues, including GAAP interpretations and transaction-specific guidance.
- Support clients with GAAP compliance, FASB updates, and evolving accounting standards.
- Serve as an internal instructor, contributing to training programs and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Participate in business development, networking, and client relationship-building activities.
This role requires strong public accounting experience, technical expertise in audit and accounting standards, and the ability to lead teams in a client-facing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Active CPA license required.
- 5+ years of experience in public accounting, preferably with audit exposure.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and technical accounting areas such as revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, convertible debt, and capitalized software.
- Experience with SAFE agreements is highly preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing audit teams and engagements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong client-facing ability.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple complex engagements simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% for client work.
- Competitive salary range of $97,000 – $145,000, with potential for performance-based increases
