Freight Coordinator

FREIGHT COORDINATOR

Des Plaines, IL

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Billing for freight
Invoicing customers
ASN's processing Advanced Shipping Notices
Order Processing and Order Entry
Inputting data and generating Bills of Lading for shipments
Processing freight quotes for sales representatives
Processing Freight Claims against carriers for damages
Contacting truck companies for pickups
Handling international paperwork / certificates of origin
Ordering trucks for the Elk Grove Village production facility
Freight Bill auditing
Additional Duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIRMENTS:

Schedule - 8:00AM to 4:30PM - Monday-Friday
High school diploma. GED or equivalent
2+ years relevant experience
Strong attention to detail and able to work safely, quickly and accurately
Ability to read and complete documentation in English; basic math skills required
Ability to work both independently & collaboratively; basic problem problem-solving & decision-making skills

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

Strong computer skills, proficient in MS word, excel and Outlook
Prior experience with a warehouse ERP system i.e Epicor, Oracle, SAP
Experience using trucking websites such as UPS, FED EX
Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT/ PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Works in an office and warehouse environment non-climate controlled with moderate noise levels. Prolonged periods of sitting, standing and walking
Ability to lift, push and pull and carry up to 25 pounds
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, grab and climb stairs
Must wear required PPE in the designated operations area
$21.00 - $23.00 p/h
