About This Position

Head of Growth Marketing

The Opportunity

The Dispatch is building a subscription business that is structurally durable. Our growth does not depend on algorithmic arbitrage or platform tricks. It depends on deep parasocial relationships with public intellectuals, a loyal paying member base, real-world community reinforced through in-person events, and a brand built on trust, substance, and long-term engagement. That foundation is non-disruptible in ways most digital media companies are not. We are now hiring a Head of Growth Marketing to turn that foundation into a compounding revenue engine

About The Dispatch: Founded in 2019, The Dispatch is a membership-driven media company built on thoughtful reporting, intellectual honesty, and a highly engaged paying audience. We occupy a distinct position in the media ecosystem: right-of-center but fiercely independent, focused on substance over outrage. We have built a durable subscription base and strong brand equity. We are now entering the next phase of growth scaling revenue with disciplined unit economics and higher experimentation velocity.

Why This Role Matters Now

The Dispatch has reached a scale where growth is increasingly nonlinear. Real-time editorial events create asymmetric acquisition opportunities. Lifecycle optimization compounds over time. Paid acquisition, product experimentation, and retention must operate as one integrated system. Our upgraded data infrastructure enables deterministic attribution and cohort-level decision making.

We believe an embedded, senior growth operator will unlock materially higher revenue velocity and long-term enterprise value than a scoped or fractional model.

Additionally, we believe AI is collapsing functional silos. The future of growth will not be a creative team here, a paid team there, a growth engineer somewhere else, and a data analyst writing SQL in the corner. It will be one highly capable operator who has taste, understands narrative and positioning, thinks in systems, can model payback and contribution margin, and uses AI and code fluently to execute.

The best growth leaders over the next five years will be creative strategists and technical executors in the same brain. That is who we are hiring.

How You'll Operate

Build the Unified Growth System. Integrate paid, lifecycle, CRO, and product experimentation into one accountable operating model. Ensure attribution, segmentation, and cohort modeling are robust and decision-ready.

Operate at High Velocity. Continuously test creative, offers and pricing, landing pages, paywalls, onboarding sequences, lifecycle triggers, and retargeting programs. Act quickly during editorial surges and real-time traffic moments. Convert peak attention into durable membership value.

Be AI-Native. You do not use AI for ideas. You use AI to build systems, automate workflows, accelerate creative iteration, write and analyze SQL, generate testing frameworks, and compress insight-to-execution timelines. If you are not tinkering daily with AI tools and code-based workflows, this role is not for you.

Think Like an Owner. Model growth decisions at the contribution margin level. Make capital allocation decisions based on payback dynamics. Own the growth P&L in partnership with leadership.

Structural Moat

The Dispatch is not competing in a race to hack distribution algorithms. We are building deep loyalty with individual writers and thinkers, a high-trust paying community, real-world event touchpoints, and a recurring revenue base that compounds. This is a long-term asset, not a traffic arbitrage machine.

The growth engine you build here compounds on top of something durable.

We optimize for contribution margin and payback not vanity metrics.
