CKD USA is seeking an Orbital Welding Tacker to join our Semiconductor Manufacturing Department in our Austin facility. This position is responsible for supporting the welding department and ensuring high-quality work in a Class 100 cleanroom environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for making quality tacks, and welds in a class 100 cleanroom according to engineering drawings, and sketches.
  • Lay out, positions, aligns, and fits components together in various body positions.
  • Applies geometric calculations regarding heating tolerance level, weld shrinkage allowances, and metal thickness.
  • Performs high-quality work by building to print and having aesthetically pleasing tacks while holding tolerances of +/-.005.
  • Processes all work orders and maintains checklists of all parts according to Bills Of Material (BOM).
  • Present a positive and respectful professional image towards customers and co-workers and make decisions based on company policies and processes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Experience and Skills:

  • Two years minimum experience of tacking, and Orbital welding on various grades of stainless steel (302,304,308 and 316).
  • Mechanical knowledge and a willingness to learn.
  • Knowledge of common hand tools and power tools; ability to identify common hardware and build to complex instructions.
  • Mechanically inclined with a fair level of dexterity to construct simple to complex assemblies or parts.
  • Ability to set up various welding machines with proper amperage and settings. Ability to use calibers, height gage, and protractor.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality focused.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Knowledge of high vacuum systems a plus.
  • Knowledge of cleanroom protocol and Applied Materials specifications a plus.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

The vision demands for this job require, close vision, distance vision, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment Demands:

This job requires an employee to be exposed to a typical production and office environment throughout the day.

  • Required to wear personal protective equipment where applicable.
  • Subject to hazards including electrical current, moving mechanical parts, and exposure to chemicals.
  • May involve exposure to moderate noise levels from printers, faxes, computers, etc.

Noise Level:

The noise level can vary from moderate to low similar to production and office environment.
