Position: Senior Director, Strategy & Impact, Advancing Economic FreedomsReports to: Chief of Staff
Scope: CIPE is seeking a full-time, exempt position for a Manager for its Innovation and Strategic Engagement department. This position contributes to the management and coordination of CIPE’s strategic planning across the organization. This position will be responsible for data collection, monitoring and analyzing program impact toward organizational strategic goals and objectives, compiling internal analytics regarding CIPE budget priorities, assisting with key strategic messaging for the organization, and maintaining the administrative needs of the department.
This position is based in Washington DC and requires hybrid onsite/telework with 2 days weekly onsite presence at the DC office.
General Responsibilities
Contribute to the management and coordination of CIPE strategy for accomplishing CIPE’s strategic goals and objectives.
Design, implement, and manage processes and information flow to support CIPE’s organizational goals and objectives. This includes:
Analyze, research, and be familiar with global geopolitics and economics, in coordination with program team counterparts, to help identify opportunities and threats for CIPE’s organizational strategy.
Organize and maintain up-to-date data analytics and notes of CIPE projects to track progress toward goals and objectives. Coordinating closely with the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning team to ensure data meets management needs. Develop or support the development of dashboards to track progress toward meeting organizational objectives.
Communicate strategic indicator reporting requirements and standards among CIPE staff. Exercise quality control and validation of incoming data. Provide guidance to staff on data and information quality.
In coordination with CIPE’s finance team, maintain clear data and analytical records regarding budgeting for organizational strategic themes.
Identify opportunities to communicate CIPE’s value add and impact to donors:
Maintain correspondence and operational records with strategic stakeholders that serve as CIPE supporters and surrogates.
Work in close collaboration with the Government Relations and Communications departments to ensure clear messaging and storytelling around organizational goals and objectives.
Track positions of CIPE stakeholders and recommend outreach based on this information.
Develop and/or coordinate presentations, infographics, and flyers that communicate the value of CIPE programming.
Support senior directors in their external engagement by providing research to support blogs on CIPE’s website, op-eds for external publications, and supporting logistics for CIPE in house convenings.
Develop funding proposals and project donor reports in collaboration with the Program Coordination Unit, and relevant Program teams.
Responsible for the financial management and stewardship of department funding, including projecting department budgeting needs in projects, managing department expense reporting, and developing accurate budget projections for each fiscal year.
Collaborate with multiple CIPE departments to achieve strategic goals, including Communications, Grants and Finance, Monitoring Evaluation and Learning, Government Relations, Program Coordination Unit, and Program Teams.
Manage scheduling, calendar of activities, and workflow for CIPE’s strategic planning efforts
Qualifications
Education:Bachelor’s degree in one of the following or closely related fields is required: International Relations, International Business, Economics, Economic Development, Political Science, or Public Policy.
Master’s degree, or equivalent experience in International Relations, International Business, Economic Development, Political Science, Public Policy, is preferred.

- Collaborative leader who can create a strategy and work with internal experts to fulfill the thematic strategic priorities.
- Skilled at relationship building and network development with organizations and individuals.
- Fluency in written and spoken English required.
- Effective representation, change management, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a diverse team environment located in multiple time zones.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to work with internal functional teams to incorporate organizational compliance, risk, financial, and operational priorities into program design.

- Computer Skills:
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required.

THE SALARY RANGE FOR THIS POSITION IS $119,000-$149,000
