Job Overview

Harold Jones Landscape Inc is seeking a proactive, detail-driven Maintenance Project Manager to oversee high-end residential landscape maintenance accounts in the Santa Barbara and Montecito areas. This field-based, client-facing role is ideal for someone with a sharp eye for detail, strong horticultural knowledge, and a passion for delivering white-glove service. Youll take ownership of maintenance operationsfrom property walks and proposals to crew coordination and quality controlensuring every landscape reflects the high standards of our discerning clientele.

This is a non-tools role focused on coordination, communication, and execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client & Property Management
    • Conduct regular on-site property walks with clients, ensuring expectations are met or exceeded

    • Generate and present maintenance proposals and add-on bids for seasonal and enhancement work

    • Generate and present detailed monthly reports on current state of the gardens

    • Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for clients, providing timely updates and expert guidance

  • Crew Oversight & Scheduling
    • Design and manage weekly maintenance routes and schedules to ensure timely service across properties

    • Coordinate crew dispatch, respond to call-outs, and adjust routes or personnel as needed

    • Support light equipment logistics (e.g., sourcing or servicing blowers, small hand tools)

    • Maintain staffing and service coverage in alignment with seasonal needs and client standards

  • Quality Control & Standards
    • Conduct weekly or biweekly quality control inspections using property-specific checklists

    • Monitor irrigation performance, plant health, and site presentation

    • Flag and evaluate irrigation issues, signs of pest/disease, and plant health concerns for treatment

    • Collaborate with team leads and technicians to implement seasonal horticultural standards

Qualifications
  • Required Experience & Skills
    • 3+ years of experience in landscape maintenance project management or a related role

    • Strong knowledge of horticultural practices, plant types, and maintenance standards

    • Familiarity with common irrigation controllers (e.g., Hunter, Rain Bird, etc.) and diagnostics

    • Ability to recognize (not treat) common tree and plant diseases and pests

    • Excellent route planning and crew scheduling skills

    • Professional communication skills, both written and verbal

    • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation for daily site visits

  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience managing high-end or estate-level residential landscape accounts

    • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus

    • Background in horticulture, landscape management, or irrigation

Work Schedule
  • Full-Time, Year-Round Position

  • MondayFriday (occasional weekend availability during peak season)

  • Field-based/remote within Santa Barbara & Montecitolocal candidates only

  • Yard location to be established; must be able to work independently until then
