Job Description

We’re looking for a Medical Secretary to support the Primary Health team at our Rural Health Clinic. In this role, you’ll provide essential clerical and scheduling support to ensure smooth patient admissions and coordinated care. You’ll maintain accurate documentation, manage tasks independently, and contribute to a welcoming, family-focused clinic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform specialized medical secretarial and scheduling tasks

  • Support patient admission and treatment coordination

  • Maintain documentation accuracy, including ABNs and MSP reports

  • Utilize AccuReg, Microsoft Word, and Excel for scheduling and clerical duties

  • Provide general administrative support within the Rural Health Clinic

Collaborative Teamwork

This role involves working closely with our clinic care team to deliver effective, patient-focused services and contribute to a supportive and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Clerical experience in an outpatient medical setting preferred

  • Experience as a Medical Assistant preferred

  • Ability to manage time and tasks independently

  • Minimum 25 WPM typing speed without errors

  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Word and Excel)

  • Ability to pass required tests: medical terminology (70%) and spelling (80%)

  • Experience with AccuReg and ABN/MSP documentation accuracy requirements

  • CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 2 months of hire)

  • Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in the English language

  • Must be able to put into practice Service Excellence skills with our patients, families, coworkers, and community
