GI Alliance is seeking an experienced Laboratory Supervisor
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Position purpose
Plan, organize, coordinate and oversee the overall workload activities including biological, chemical and environmental, quality control and quality assessment documentation.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:
  • Must be proficient in all areas of laboratory
  • Train, supervise and evaluate the performance of laboratory staff; follow work performance standards; schedule and assign work and develop priorities; provide technical expertise as needed or requested.
  • Enforce laboratory policies and procedures; maintain appropriate quality control and quality assurance procedures: ensure compliance with current safety requirements as well as federal and state regulatory agencies.
  • Project personnel and equipment needs and maintain appropriate par levels for supplies.
  • Maintain knowledge of technological advancements in the laboratory testing, computer applications and specialized instrumentation.
  • Work cooperatively with GI Alliance health care providers, regarding the identification of patient information and reports; maintain confidentiality of information as appropriate.
  • Prepare and maintain required documentation of test results; record and analyze data using computer hardware and software.
  • Perform laboratory testing using standardized procedures.

  • Perform related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications


    Education: BS degree required, ASCP preferred.
    Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in histology. Minimum of 3 years of lead or supervisory experience.

  • Knowledge of purchasing and inventory control.
  • Skilled in problem-solving.
  • Skill in writing and communicating effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure, communicate and present information.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply clinic policies and procedures.
  • Ability to identify problems, recommend solutions, organize and analyze information.
  • Ability to multi-task, establish priorities, and coordinate work activities.
  • Ability to competently use Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and appropriate laboratory software.
