The Opportunity
The DevOps Software Engineer role is to simplify the deployment and management of the Cloud Services infrastructure through the automation, standardisation, integration, reporting, compliance checking and remediation of infrastructure under management.
The DevOps Software Engineer will focus on:
1. The design, development, testing and implementation of micro-services and applications, including database management.
2. The design, development, testing and implementation of automation workflows to provision, change and de-provision infrastructure elements.
3. Report, manage, and where possible automate, the remediation of non-compliance between infrastructure under management and billing systems.
4. Evaluate and then champion new technology to support underlying business needs and initiatives.
5. The integration, management and support of software and infrastructure management systems leveraging open-source frameworks, latest tech, experimentation, learning
The DevOps Software Engineer will build automation, ETL and APIs to support business and customer outcomes. This includes the design, development and integration of AI-enabled workflows, Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, prompt engineering frameworks and AI-assisted operational tooling.

Experience and Qualifications Required
  • At least 5 -7 years’ experience in relevant technical roles in the application development and software automation space.
  • Bachelor's degree qualified in Software Engineering or similar
  • Software engineer, with experience across a broad range of technologies with exposure to network and\or system administration.
  • Demonstrable ability to evaluate emerging technologies (including AI-driven platforms) and translate them into practical, production-grade engineering solutions.
Technical Skills required
  • In-depth hands-on experience in at least 5 of the below:

  • Scripting and automation with Python (including AI/ML libraries), Docker, Kubernetes, PowerShell or similar, with experience in CI/CD and AI-assisted development workflows.

  • Software design and development with Kubernetes, Python, .NET, JAVA, Javascript, XML.

  • Demonstrable experience with unit and integration testing.

  • Database administration and management with MS-SQL, MySQL, Postgres.

  • System administration with Microsoft Windows server and/or Linux or other Unix variants and/or VMware or other virtualisation platforms.

  • Network administration with switching, routing, firewalls or load balancers.

  • Plus:

  • Experience with ITIL or ITIL Certified.

  • Professional exposure to Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery processes and pipelines.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team on both large and small projects.

  • Strong documentation skills with the ability to write clear technical instructions.

  • Strong analytical skills to solve complex problems efficiently.

  • Experience with OpenAI, Microsoft Foundry, or open models.

  • Experience with Model Context Protocol / Agent to Agent Protocol.
