Electrode Equipment Specialist at NextStar Energy – Windsor, Ontario

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Electrode Equipment Specialist to join our team.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate a team of electricians to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical systems within a large-scale industrial battery manufacturing facility.
• Assign work orders, prioritize maintenance tasks, and support troubleshooting activities.
• Support training and development of electricians to strengthen technical capability.
• Provide technical expertise in industrial electrical systems including motor control, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and automated manufacturing equipment.
• Ensure electrical work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, electrical codes, and company standards while supporting production uptime and facility reliability.
• Plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Ensure electrical work orders are executed efficiently and documented in the CMMS system.
• Support installation, commissioning, and modification of new electrical equipment and systems.
• Coordinate with engineering, production, and external contractors during project execution.
• Maintain safe work practices including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Support electrical safety programs.
• Ensure electrical documentation, drawings, and labeling are maintained and updated.
• Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, energy efficiency, and maintenance practices.
• Support facility improvement projects and capital initiatives.
• Participate in root cause investigations and reliability improvement efforts.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Licensed Electrician.
• 7+ years of industrial electrical experience, preferably in manufacturing or high-reliability industrial facilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Additional training or certifications in industrial electrical systems, automation, motor controls, or VFD systems are considered an asset.

• 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
• Experience with industrial automation and manufacturing environments is strongly preferred.

• Strong knowledge of:

  • Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • Industrial motor systems
  • PLC-controlled equipment
  • Electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Electrical drawings and schematics
  • Preventive maintenance practices
  • CMMS systems for maintenance management
