This role offers the chance to lead the architecture and development of a cutting-edge data ecosystem that drives AI-first logistics solutions. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will design, implement, and optimize data pipelines, Snowflake architectures, and LLM-based AI/ML workflows, transforming fragmented logistics data into actionable insights. You will collaborate closely with leadership, product, and design teams to ensure scalable, secure, and performant solutions that support real-time operations while preparing for advanced AI deployments. The position balances hands-on engineering with strategic oversight, mentoring, and cross-team collaboration, providing a platform to shape both the technology and the data strategy. Ideal candidates thrive in fast-paced, innovative environments, enjoy solving complex problems, and have experience bridging operational and AI-focused data initiatives.
Define and implement the strategy for LLM-based data products, including semantic layer design and embedding pipelines for RAG-based applications.
Own the design, evolution, and operationalization of Snowflake architecture and Cortex AI/ML functions.
Build and maintain reliable ELT/Reverse ETL pipelines, ensuring multi-tenant SaaS data remains secure, performant, and compliant.
Develop pipelines to move large-scale ML and LLM models from proof-of-concept to production-grade deployment.
Simplify and modularize the data estate through well-defined service boundaries, reducing complexity across the platform.
Mentor engineers, provide architectural guidance, and collaborate with Product and Design to translate complex business logic into automated, actionable data deliverables.
Stay current on emerging data technologies and best practices, ensuring the platform remains innovative and future-ready.
Requirements:
7+ years of experience in data engineering with proven delivery of mission-critical data platforms.
Deep proficiency in Snowflake, including data modeling, query optimization, security, and AI/ML Cortex functions.
Expert-level SQL and Python skills; extensive experience with dbt and modern orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster).
Hands-on experience building pipelines for ML or LLM-based applications, including feature engineering and model deployment.
Competency in cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and experience with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code principles.
Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience driving cross-team architectural consensus.
Ability to take end-to-end ownership of product areas and mentor junior engineers in best practices.
Benefits:
Competitive salary with market-aligned compensation.
Remote-first work model with flexibility.
Opportunities to work on AI-first data initiatives with high business impact.
Professional growth, mentorship, and exposure to cutting-edge data technologies.
Collaborative and innovative team environment fostering knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
