Job Title: Financial Controller

Pay Rate: $110k-$130k, Salary

JOB SUMMARY

The Controller has a dual function; managing the treasury process and oversee the corporate accounting responsibilities. Maintain and account for the fiscal matters of the plant, close monthly financials, reconcile balance sheet, prepare financial reviews and reporting of operations for the guidance of plant and senior management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Oversees the accounting operations, controls, policy and procedures of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives.

· Oversee treasury function and report weekly cash position for all companies.

· Issue timely and complete financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annually) internally and externally as needed.

· Providing support for the annual Financial Statement review

· Assisting with tax preparations and payments

· Prepare monthly borrowing base certificates and monitor debt level for compliance.

· Review all monthly journal entries prepared by staff

· Review bank reconciliations and ensure that they are completed.

· Assist in the preparation of annual budget including production cost, crop income statement, income statement, balance sheet and cash flow.

· Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.

· Managing the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable Credit & Collections, and Payroll functions including the support staff

· Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis.

· Assist Grower Accounting Team (GDN) as needed.

· Manager Accounting team and function: Interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, directing work, rewarding, disciplining employees, performance reviews, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

· Follows and ensures adherence to established Grower Direct Nut Co., local, state, and federal regulations and requirements as well as food safety, sanitation, food production and nutritional guidelines.

· Established and ensures adherence to procedures and standards, which are in agreement with these regulations, requirements and guidelines.

· Ensure all standard company cost accounting practices and procedures are properly implemented and monitored.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities are not limited to the above mentioned and may include assisting other departments within reasonable and related tasks.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

o Will occasionally stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle and feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear, taste and smell.

o Will frequently sit and occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel crouch or crawl.

o Must use both hands for rapid mental muscular coordination, simultaneously.

o Must be able to reach high and low levels, frequently.

o Must be able to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level up to 30 pounds frequently.

o Must lift with arms up to floor to waist, waist to shoulder 30 pounds.

o Must be able to constantly stand/stoop/walk/bend, up to 12 hrs.

o Ability to strenuous flex/grip with wrist/hands frequently (15 flexion/minute).

o Use of keyboard and mouse for extended period.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

o May work near moving mechanical parts.

o May work around wet or humid conditions, in high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold (non-weather), extreme heat (non-weather), risk of electrical shock, and/or risk of vibration.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

1. Minimum 5 – 7 years’ experience with steady progression through management ranks, preferably in an agricultural manufacturing business including experience in job costing.

2. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CMA, MBA preferred.

3. Ability to confidently present information to Board of Directors.

4. Excellent oral and written communication skills and knowledge of current Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

5. Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.

6. Advanced MS Office skills (Excel) and BI reporting software.
