About This Position
Job Summary
The Program Manager ensures manufacturing projects, programs, and activities are managed effectively and align with the broader objectives of the business. Collects, analyzes, and monitors manufacturing and production data to identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies and implement improvements to processes, workflows, or methods. Facilitates communication and collaboration between various functions including design, procurement, and quality assurance to ensure actions and goals are aligned.
Coordinates vendors and suppliers to support program activities and ensures cost, quality, and availability meet customer specifications and schedules. Acts as the primary customer contact for quotations, cost and contract questions, and program issues or changes in requirements. May provide technical support at customer facilities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager.
Work is occasionally directed, but generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. May provide training, guidance, and delegate tasks to other team members. Typically requires 2-4 years of directly related experience.
Essential functions
- Lead planning and implementation of onboarding clients.
- Develop and maintain detailed integration plans and schedules.
- Lead requirements, design, development and testing of integration phases.
- Follow a defined, agreed upon project management methodology.
- Facilitate the definition of project goals, tasks, and resource requirements.
- Convey goals and objectives clearly to project team.
- Identify, track and resolve project risks and issues.
- Resolve or assist in the resolution of conflicts within and between projects or functional areas.
- Ensure integration status, issues and successes are communicated to project team, management and documented appropriately.
- Develop methods to monitor integration progress and provide corrective supervision if necessary.
- Lead project status calls or meetings.
- Manage project resource allocation.
- Manage tasks and people.
- Interact regularly with clients to determine their needs and to develop plans for improving delivery.
- Work cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes.
- Motivate project team members to action.
- Ensure open communication on the project team.
- Relate well to others, to dictate responsibilities, to offer constructive feedback, and to support and encourage others.
- Address delicate situations and handle conflicts in such a way as to maximize opportunity and minimize exposure to risk.
- Address problems with problem-solving skills and ability to think quickly and adeptly.
- Prioritize own and team’s work.
- Forecast changes and communicate current and projected issues.
- Add and update Program Management tool.
- Engage, coordinate and plan 3rd party vendor activities and resources.
- Complies with all policies and procedures pertaining to the protection of the Company’s Information Assets, Security and Systems and that of its Clients.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years working in manufacturing preferred
- Outstanding communications skills, able to communicate with all levels of an organization.
- Strong process orientation, problem solving and troubleshooting skills, and a firm commitment to quality.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Proven balance of strategic and tactical skills.
- Proven ability to consistently turn strategy and vision into reality through effective project management, technical solutions definition, and communications.
