Job Description
This is a hands-on leadership role in a residential behavioral health program serving adults in community-based housing. You will supervise staff, coordinate daily operations, support resident needs, manage housing-related tasks, and help keep the home safe, structured, and respectful.
This role is for someone who understands that residential work is real work: schedules, crises, documentation, inspections, staff coverage, resident dignity, and the daily discipline of keeping a program steady.
You will do well here if you can lead without ego, stay calm under pressure, hold people accountable, and treat adults with mental health challenges with respect.
What You’ll Do- Supervise residential staff, volunteers, and practicum students
- Build staff schedules and help ensure appropriate shift coverage
- Coordinate referrals, admissions, resident needs, and service follow-up
- Handle housing-related tasks, including rent processes, inspections, unit turnover, and tenant matters
- Monitor documentation, reports, records, and compliance requirements
- Respond to crises and help staff manage difficult situations appropriately
- Work with community partners and service providers
- Help maintain a safe, structured, respectful residential environment
Minimum:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5–10 years of experience in human services, behavioral health, residential programs, housing, or a related field with increasing responsibility
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field
- Supervisory or team leadership experience
- CPR certification, First Aid certification, and TB clearance, or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug/alcohol screening
- Ability to work in a residential and community-based housing environment
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
- Availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call support as program needs require
