Job Description

Senior Director, Commercial Technology

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Director, Commercial Technology in the United States.

This role is a senior leadership opportunity responsible for building and scaling a full commercial and medical affairs technology ecosystem from the ground up in a fast-moving, launch-focused environment. It sits at the intersection of technology, commercial strategy, and pharmaceutical operations, ensuring that critical systems are ready to support an imminent product launch and sustained market impact. You will define and implement a SaaS-first, integration-smart architecture that enables field, marketing, market access, and medical teams to operate seamlessly. The role requires strong hands-on leadership, combining strategic architecture with execution accountability. You will work closely with senior commercial and medical leaders to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions. This is a highly visible role where speed, precision, and usability directly influence patient impact and commercial success.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the end-to-end design, implementation, and stabilization of the commercial and medical affairs technology stack, including CRM, omnichannel, marketing automation, market access, and medical systems.
  • Own the deployment of field force tools such as CRM, call planning, sample management, and mobile enablement, ensuring readiness for day-one launch operations.
  • Translate commercial and medical business requirements into scalable, integrated technology solutions aligned with launch priorities.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Market Access, and Medical Affairs leadership to shape technology governance and align priorities across functions.
  • Serve as the key interface between commercial systems and data/analytics platforms, ensuring consistent, trusted, and actionable insights across the organization.
  • Drive user adoption across commercial and medical teams, ensuring systems are effective, intuitive, and embedded in daily workflows.
  • Oversee vendor and consulting partners, managing delivery, performance, and accountability across the full technology ecosystem.
  • Embed compliance, privacy, and regulatory requirements into system design from the outset, ensuring audit-ready governance and data integrity.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years of experience in commercial technology, with significant exposure to pharmaceutical or biotech environments.
  • Proven track record of building commercial technology stacks from the ground up, ideally in pre-launch or launch-stage organizations.
  • Strong expertise in pharma commercial systems such as Veeva CRM, omnichannel platforms, marketing automation, and medical affairs technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in fast-paced, resource-constrained environments requiring rapid decision-making and execution.
  • Strong architectural and systems thinking with the ability to balance SaaS solutions, configuration, and integration strategies.
  • Experience leading vendor ecosystems and managing external delivery partners effectively.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior commercial and medical leaders.
  • Hands-on mindset with a focus on outcomes, adoption, and operational usability over theoretical design.
  • Experience integrating AI-driven solutions into commercial and medical workflows is highly desirable.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range: $230,000 – $255,000 USD, plus eligibility for incentive compensation.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company participation.
  • Paid time off and flexible leave policies.
  • Participation in company incentive plans tied to individual and organizational performance.
  • Fully remote work environment with flexibility across the United States.
  • Travel opportunities (up to 20%), including occasional international engagement.
  • Exposure to high-impact, launch-critical work in a mission-driven, fast-scaling organization.
