About This Position

Air Quality Technician is responsible for monitoring and analyzing air quality data for environmental, health, and safety purposes. They collect air samples, measure air pollutant levels, and report findings to government regulatory agencies. They also develop plans to reduce air pollution and recommend methods to improve air quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Conduct air quality tests and inspections
  • Analyze test results and prepare reports
  • Identify sources of air pollution
  • Develop strategies to improve air quality
  • Advise organizations and individuals on air quality standards and regulations
  • Maintain and calibrate air quality instruments,
  • Working with local government agencies to ensure air quality regulations are met, as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

  • Number of challenges that arise from scheduling conflicts

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency with air quality testing equipmentOne-year related experience in scheduling, dispatching or project management or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be efficient with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to time manage, set timeline goals and prioritize tasks
  • Proficiency with computers
  • (Desired) HVAC industry-specific experience.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment and problem-solving
  • Must be a self-starter with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must have strong skills in organization and planning

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Physical Demands:

  • Sitting for long periods of time
  • Typing for long periods of time
  • Talking on the telephone for long periods of time
  • Needs use of voice, eyesight both near and distance

Working Environment:

  • Normal Conditioned Office environment
