Pay Range

$147,000.00-$202,100.00 Annual

This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.

Position Overview

The OEM Business Leader is accountable for the profit and loss performance of a portfolio exceeding $100M in annual revenue, spanning Aerospace, Appliance, Automotive, HVAC Equipment, Office Interiors, and Specialty markets.

This role is responsible for driving profitable growth, portfolio strategy, and market leadership across the OEM business. The OEM Business Leader leads and develops a team of Product Managers and Channel Leaders and partners closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and New Product Development to improve sales growth, market share, profitability, quality, and customer service.

The position reports to the General Manager, Performance Materials, and is a key member of the Performance Materials leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

Business & P&L Leadership

  • Own full P&L accountability for the OEM business, ensuring sustained, profitable growth across all portfolios.
  • Develop and execute the annual operating plan and five‑year strategic plan, including growth initiatives, portfolio optimization, innovation priorities, and competitive positioning.
  • Actively manage overall business performance using data‑driven decision‑making, monitoring KPIs such as volume, margin, market share, capacity utilization, inventory, cost position, and pricing effectiveness.

Portfolio & Product Strategy

  • Provide strategic direction to Product Managers to drive portfolio lifecycle management, market‑aligned product strategies, and long‑term profitability.
  • Evaluate portfolio risks and opportunities, including emerging technologies, market trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics.
  • Lead actions to optimize or rationalize product lines based on lifecycle stage and return on investment.

Sales & Channel Leadership

  • Guide Channel Leaders in developing and executing strategies to grow share, expand the customer base, achieve price realization, and improve profitability.
  • Ensure disciplined customer relationship management processes are in place to support consistent execution and growth.
  • Build and sustain credibility with key customers, OEM partners, and relevant trade associations.

Talent & Team Leadership

  • Recruit, develop, and retain high‑performing talent in product management and sales leadership roles.
  • Provide regular coaching, performance feedback, and development planning to maximize individual and team effectiveness.
  • Establish clear direction, priorities, and accountability across the team.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to address cost, quality, service, and capacity challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with New Product Development to ensure a robust near‑term and long‑term NPD pipeline aligned with OEM needs and business strategy.
  • Actively participate as a member of the Performance Materials leadership team, contributing to broader business priorities and initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in sales, product management, or related roles within a medium‑to‑large manufacturing organization.
  • At least 4 years of people leadership experience, managing sales, product management, or new product development teams.
  • Strong understanding of the OEM value chain, including multi‑step distribution models, customer requirements, and competitive landscapes.
  • Demonstrated success delivering profit improvement and growth initiatives.
  • Proven ability to build, lead, and sustain high‑performing teams.
  • Strong analytical, critical, and creative thinking skills, particularly in evaluating proposals, contracts, capital project investments, and growth opportunities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively interface with stakeholders at all organizational levels, internally and externally.

Preferred

  • Technical degree and/or MBA.
  • Experience working directly with OEM customers across multiple end markets.

Leadership & Role Scope

  • Directly manages a team of approximately 5 salaried employees.
  • Responsible for performance management, compensation planning, hiring, and termination decisions.
  • Moderate travel required.
  • Office‑based work environment.
  • May occasionally be required to lift or move items up to 25 pounds.
