POSITION SUMMARY:

The Program Coordinator reports to the Branch Executive Director with functional oversight from the Association Senior Program Director. Working collaboratively, they support the development, delivery, and promotion of high-quality programs across areas such as youth and adult sports, STEM, arts, family programming, and other revenue-generating initiatives. The role ensures programs align with the YMCA mission, association standards, branch goals, and community needs while driving participation and revenue.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Program Quality & Implementation

  • Support the development, delivery, and expansion of high-quality, mission-driven programs aligned with branch and association goals.
  • Help ensure consistent program quality, effective resource use, and session-based activities that promote skill progression.

2. Staff Onboarding, Training & Lesson Support

  • Support staff onboarding, training, lesson planning, and daily program delivery.
  • Reinforce program standards, safety expectations, and service excellence.
  • Assist with staff meetings to share updates and address challenges.

3. Safety, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Assist with compliance to all safety, regulatory, and YMCA policies.
  • Support safety training, emergency procedures, incident reporting, and equipment readiness.

4. Systems, Data Entry & Program Administration

  • Maintain accurate program builds, registrations, schedules, rosters, and participation data.
  • Support program setup, payroll reporting, evaluations, and participant feedback.

5. Program Engagement & Organizational Support

  • Support program and membership growth through marketing, engagement, and customer service.
  • Build positive relationships with participants, families, staff, and volunteers.
  • Assist with special events, fundraising, and regular program review meetings.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in Youth/Sports and Child Care
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a child care or sports related field preferred.
  • Experience in staff supervision, committees and in providing leadership to groups.
  • Ability to recruit, train, schedule, supervise and motivate staff.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Detail-oriented with problem solving skills. Demonstrated experience setting and managing priorities.
  • Exhibit strong leadership skills; possess a passion for member service, building and maintaining a culture of member service excellence.
