About This Position

VP, Compliance

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a VP, Compliance in United States.

This executive role sits at the center of a high-growth, nationwide mortgage lending organization, ensuring that compliance operations are structured, scalable, and regulator-ready. The position is responsible for transforming regulatory requirements into disciplined, repeatable systems that support consistent execution across all compliance functions. Acting as both strategic leader and operational authority, this role ensures the integrity of post-closing quality control, audit, monitoring, and testing programs. It requires a strong balance of regulatory expertise, process engineering, and leadership in a complex financial services environment. The VP will serve as a key gatekeeper for compliance outputs, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and readiness for executive and regulatory review. This is a highly visible leadership role with direct impact on risk management, operational efficiency, and organizational credibility.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead and oversee the full Compliance Management System with primary ownership of post-closing quality control, audit, monitoring, and testing programs, ensuring risks are identified, validated, and resolved through sustainable corrective actions.
  • Act as final quality authority for compliance outputs, including executive and regulator-facing reports, ensuring all deliverables are accurate, consistent, actionable, and publication-ready with minimal revision.
  • Design, implement, and maintain structured compliance processes, SOPs, and workflows covering policy lifecycle management, training programs, monitoring systems, and reporting standards to enable repeatable execution.
  • Oversee regulatory readiness activities, including loan file production for audits and examinations, ensuring timely, complete, and accurate responses to internal and external reviews.
  • Manage compliance risk identification and remediation efforts, partnering with stakeholders to implement controls, conduct validation testing, and confirm effectiveness through structured oversight.
  • Lead and develop compliance staff, establishing performance standards, accountability frameworks, and review mechanisms to ensure high-quality, timely, and precise deliverables across all outputs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with 7+ years in financial services and 5+ years focused on mortgage compliance, risk management, or consumer lending regulations.
  • Proven ability to independently lead complex, cross-functional compliance initiatives from design through execution, with strong ownership of outcomes and deadlines.
  • Deep knowledge of mortgage lending regulations, including TRID, RESPA, TILA, ECOA, HMDA, UDAAP, QM/ATR, GLBA, and SAFE Act requirements.
  • Strong experience building operational frameworks, SOPs, workflows, and structured compliance systems that improve consistency and reduce manual oversight.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce executive-ready and regulator-facing reporting with exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and clarity under tight timelines.
  • Strong systems thinking, analytical capability, and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate regulatory requirements into operational controls.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation aligned with experience and market standards
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan
  • Company-provided short-term disability coverage
  • Employee assistance and wellness programs
  • Career growth opportunities in a high-expansion organization
  • Inclusive and collaborative workplace culture
  • Exposure to large-scale national mortgage operations and regulatory frameworks.
