About This Position
We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to take ownership of our financial reporting and general ledger operations. This isn't just about data entry; it’s about analyzing trends, improving internal controls, and supporting the strategic growth of the company.

- Financial Reporting: Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes. Prepare accurate financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in accordance with GAAP.
- General Ledger Management: Oversee account reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals. Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled timely and discrepancies are resolved.
- Cost Accounting: Analyze, record, & report on costs associated with company’s production, inventory, and operations to maximize profitability. (Standard costs, variance analysis, etc.)
- Fixed Assets & Inventory: Maintain the fixed asset ledger, depreciation schedules, and oversee inventory accounting/valuation where applicable.
- Tax & Compliance: Assist with local, state, and federal tax filings, sales tax reporting, and coordinate with external auditors for year-end reviews.
- Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks in the accounting cycle and implement automated solutions or tighter internal controls to increase efficiency.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and review the work of Junior Accountants or AP/AR clerks to ensure accuracy and professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, Macros) and hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Sage, or QuickBooks Enterprise).
- Compliance: Strong working knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Preferred "Bonus" Qualities
- CPA or CMA certification (active or in progress).
- Experience in manufacturing.
- Public accounting experience (Big 4 or mid-tier firms).
Who You Are
- Analytical: You don't just see numbers; you see the story they tell.
- Adaptable: You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can pivot when priorities shift.
- Communicator: You can explain complex financial concepts to non-finance team members clearly
