Position Summary:

The Kitchen Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the kitchen to ensure high-quality, timely, and nutritious meals are provided in accordance with health and safety regulations. This role supports the mission of the organization by fostering a clean, efficient, and collaborative culinary environment that meets client dietary needs. The Kitchen Supervisor leads kitchen staff, manages inventory, and ensures a smooth workflow.

Essential Duties:

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring meal quality, cleanliness, and timely service
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure meals align with dietary and therapeutic needs
  • Supervise and support kitchen staff; assist with scheduling, training, and daily direction
  • Assist in menu planning and food preparation, ensuring flexibility for special dietary requests
  • Maintain appropriate food inventory levels and place orders with approved vendors
  • Monitor food safety and sanitation practices in line with regulatory standards (e.g., ServSafe, OSHA)
  • Ensure kitchen logs, temperature checks, and safety protocols are consistently followed
  • Participate in food prep and service during peak times or staff shortages
  • Suggest and implement improvements to recipes or meal processes to enhance client satisfaction
  • Maintain a safe and positive work environment, identifying and addressing issues proactively
  • Perform other duties as needed to support kitchen and facility operations
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of culinary or food service experience; prior supervisory experience preferred
  • Hands-on experience with commercial kitchen equipment and basic inventory management
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation procedures
  • ServSafe certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Culinary training or certification preferred
