Engineering Technician

This role is part of a highly technical, mission-driven engineering environment focused on supporting advanced aerospace and propulsion systems testing. You will contribute directly to the assembly, instrumentation, and testing of complex mechanical and electrical systems used in development and production programs. The position involves hands-on work with hydraulic and water-based test systems, ensuring components are properly configured and validated for performance and safety. You will collaborate closely with engineering and production teams in a fast-paced, precision-focused setting where attention to detail is critical. The role also includes documentation, data collection, and adherence to strict technical procedures and quality standards. This is a fully onsite position offering the opportunity to work on cutting-edge systems that contribute to critical aerospace advancements.

Accountabilities:
  • Perform assembly, disassembly, instrumentation, and testing of mechanical and electrical components in support of development and production programs
  • Set up and configure test fixtures and articles using drawings, schematics, and detailed work instructions
  • Install instrumentation and connect test systems for data collection and performance validation
  • Operate and support hydraulic, water, and mechanical test systems used in product qualification
  • Conduct equipment setup using hand tools, power tools, and measurement instruments such as calipers and micrometers
  • Compile, organize, and document technical data, test results, and reports for internal and customer review
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, engineering standards, and operational guidelines
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of relevant technical experience, or an associate degree/certificate in a technical field
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Experience using manual and power tools in a technical or manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and electrical meters
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for mechanical and electrical systems
  • Ability to follow detailed written instructions and standard operating procedures accurately
  • Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, and data entry tools
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance
  • Willingness to comply with additional security and regulatory requirements as needed
