Description:

Gateway Rehab Center (GRC) is seeking a Director of Residential Admissions to provide leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight of residential admissions–related services. This role is responsible for management, program development, and clinical and administrative oversight of Clinical Specialists, Utilization Review, Centralized Scheduling, and Patient Registration.

This position reports to the Vice President of Admissions and Outpatient Services and receives infrequent supervision.

Your Role in Transforming Recovery

  • Lead and inspire residential admissions–related departments, including Clinical Specialists, Utilization Review, Scheduling, and Patient Registration, to deliver timely, compassionate access to treatment.
  • Create and sustain efficient admissions processes that prioritize patient needs, clinical appropriateness, and continuity of care.
  • Partner with external referral sources, hospitals, courts, and community organizations to facilitate smooth transitions into treatment.
  • Collaborate closely with internal programs to ensure accurate placement decisions and coordinated levels of care.
  • Develop, implement, and uphold policies and procedures that support evidence-based clinical standards, regulatory compliance, and payer requirements.
  • Foster a culture of professional growth through staff training, coaching, performance evaluation, and ongoing development.
  • Oversee departmental budgets and resources to ensure responsible stewardship and program sustainability.
  • Use data and performance metrics to evaluate admissions effectiveness, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Stay current with licensing, accreditation, and regulatory standards impacting residential admissions services.
  • Address performance concerns with clarity, accountability, and supportive documentation.
  • Conduct or support clinical assessments and admission evaluations when needed.
  • Chair the Inpatient Admissions Task Force Committee to advance organizational best practices.
  • Represent Gateway Rehab in leadership meetings, committees, and community partnerships.
Requirements:

What We're Looking For

  • Masters degree in a health-related field.
  • Minimum of two years clinical experience, including experience in a clinical setting with chemically dependent patients.
  • Knowledge of insurance and managed care.
  • Computer literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge base of ASAM and other placement criteria preferred.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Professional licensure preferred.

Other Requirements

  • Pass a PA Criminal History Record Check.
  • Obtain PA or a State Child Abuse and FBI fingerprinting clearances.
  • Obtain CPR/First Aid training.
  • Pass Drug Screen.
  • 2-Step TB Test.
