Core4ce is seeking a talented AI/Machine Learning Software Engineer to join our AAIM Lab team in Beavercreek, OH. The Autonomy, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning (AAIM) Lab accelerates problem-solving and undertakes development challenges for various government customers and partners, employing existing and to-be-developed AI/ML tools. This position offers hands-on experience building production AI/ML systems for defense and government applications, working with cutting-edge technologies including large language models, cloud platforms, and modern software engineering practices. The ideal candidate will assist with the development of AI/ML applications and infrastructure that support our customers.

Responsibilities:

AI/ML Development

• Implement and optimize machine learning algorithms and workflows
• Develop and integrate large language model applications
• Build data processing pipelines for various document types and data sources
• Experiment with embedding models and vector search techniques
• Evaluate model performance and improve system accuracy through testing and iteration

Software Engineering

• Develop backend APIs and services using modern Python frameworks
• Design and implement database integrations and data storage solutions
• Build scalable, maintainable code following best practices
• Write unit tests and contribute to system documentation
• Participate in code reviews and collaborative development processes

Cloud Infrastructure & Deployment

• Deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform preferred)
• Work with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Contribute to infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines
• Assist with monitoring, logging, and system optimization
• Support production deployments and troubleshooting

User Interface Development

• Contribute to web-based user interfaces using modern frontend frameworks
• Build intuitive components for AI/ML application interactions
• Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs
• Implement responsive designs and user experience improvements

*This position is designed to be flexible, with responsibilities evolving to meet business needs and enable individual growth.

Requirements:

• Must be able to work in an office environment at a desk and computer
• May travel ~10% to conferences, program reviews, industry meetings, or other collaborative events. Most or all travel would be CONUS.
