Quarry Maintenance Technician at Grayson Carter and Son Contracting – Athens, Alabama

Position Title: Quarry Maintenance Technician

Department: Quarry Operations

Supervisor: Quarry Foreman

Location: Various

Essential Job Functions:

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on crushers, screens, conveyors, pumps, motors, and other plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform corrective repairs in a timely and safe manner.
• Assist in installation, alignment, and removal of mechanical components and equipment.
• Follow all safety procedures and ensure compliance with MSHA regulations and company safety standards.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and assist with plant shutdowns and overhauls.
• Ensure that all work is completed in accordance with environmental and safety regulations.
• Maintain a high level of quality work at all times
• Maintain good relationships with Technicians, Foreman, Superintendents, Inspectors, Developers, and other co-workers at all times
• Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work tasks
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Represent and promote Grayson Carter and Son in a professional and honest manner

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

• Ability to communicate and convey information effectively
• Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and periodically lift 75 pounds
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Previous experience in construction, mining, or heavy equipment operation (optional but beneficial).
• Knowledge of OSHA & MSHA Standards
• Dependable transportation
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on all job sites as required
• Work weekends and overtime as needed
• Committed to attending work each day
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
