About This Position
The Whitaker Group is seeking a strategic and mission-driven Director of Community Experience & Brand Activation to lead integrated efforts across our brand and community impact work. This unique role merges brand storytelling, experiential strategy, and purpose-driven engagement — overseeing both external brand activations and the development of The Charitable Group, the philanthropic and community-facing arm of The Whitaker Group.
You will be responsible for shaping how audiences connect with our brand and values through cultural experiences and community investments. This role includes leading a team of Community Experience Leads and managing monthly Charitable Group board calls to ensure alignment and accountability across our impact initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:Community Strategy & The Charitable Group:Lead the strategic direction, growth, and day-to-day operations of The Charitable Group, ensuring alignment with The Whitaker Group’s mission and values.
Develop and manage community partnerships, programs, and outreach initiatives that create measurable social and cultural impact.
Serve as a primary liaison with community leaders, nonprofit partners, and local stakeholders.
Monitor, evaluate, and report on community impact metrics and success stories.
Design and oversee immersive brand experiences, events, and cultural activations that reflect The Whitaker Group’s creative direction and values.
Partner with marketing, creative, and retail teams to ensure a consistent, elevated brand presence across all channels and consumer experiences.
Manage third-party vendors, creative agencies, and event production teams to execute high-quality brand activations.
Use brand experiences to enhance public awareness and deepen consumer connection.
Manage, coach, and support a team of Community Experience Leads across key regions and markets.
Provide regular training, tools, and direction to ensure alignment with brand and community engagement goals.
Foster a collaborative and empowering team environment that emphasizes innovation, accountability, and cultural connection.
Ensure each market's community strategy reflects local needs while aligning with the organization’s broader vision.
Plan and lead monthly board calls for The Charitable Group, including agenda development, presentation creation, and follow-up actions.
Provide timely updates on community programs, impact, and opportunities for strategic alignment.
Support executive leadership in the preparation of board materials and stakeholder communications.
Act as a thought partner on brand-community integration and long-term social impact strategy.
5+ years of experience in brand marketing, community leadership, experiential strategy, or nonprofit management.
Demonstrated experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
Skilled in board communications, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; confident presenting to leadership and external partners.
A passion for culture, community, and inclusive storytelling.
Experience in fashion, lifestyle, or culturally rooted brands.
Familiarity with nonprofit operations, philanthropic giving, or social impact frameworks.
Ability to engage diverse audiences with cultural sensitivity and authenticity.
Proficient in tools such as Google Workspace, project management platforms (e.g., Asana, Trello), and CRM systems.
