This role focuses on improving the core engineering systems that enable large-scale product development and delivery. You will help shape and optimize the tools, workflows, and CI/CD pipelines used daily by global engineering teams working on a widely used open-source browser. The position sits within a highly collaborative, distributed environment where your work directly impacts developer productivity, build efficiency, and release quality. You will design and enhance automation, reduce friction in testing and debugging, and help ensure faster, more reliable delivery of features and fixes. Beyond building systems, you will play a key role in mentoring peers, influencing technical direction, and supporting cross-team collaboration. This is a high-impact engineering role where platform thinking, data-driven decisions, and continuous improvement are central to success.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will improve and scale engineering workflows, focusing on automation, CI/CD systems, and developer productivity across global teams. You will build tools and services that streamline testing, reduce debugging overhead, and enhance software delivery performance.

  • Design, develop, and maintain services and tools that improve engineering workflows and CI/CD efficiency.
  • Enhance automation across build, test, and deployment pipelines to reduce friction and increase development velocity.
  • Analyze engineering workflow data, build dashboards, and identify trends to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with distributed engineering teams to optimize development, testing, and release processes.
  • Provide technical guidance, participate in code reviews, and support cross-team architectural decisions.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing and engineering excellence.
  • Improve integration between systems used for development, testing, and delivery of core products.
Requirements

This position requires strong backend and full-stack engineering experience, with a focus on developer tooling, CI/CD systems, and scalable services. You should be comfortable working in distributed environments and passionate about improving engineering efficiency.

  • Strong experience in Python development, including building backend services.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and front-end development fundamentals.
  • Experience with Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or CircleCI.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP and REST-based architectures.
  • Solid understanding of databases and SQL.
  • Experience working across multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS, Android).
  • Strong analytical mindset with interest in data analysis and workflow optimization.
  • Experience with version control systems and distributed engineering environments is highly valued.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional teams.
