Responsibilities
The Patient Access Registration Supervisor supports the Patient Access Registration Manager and oversees the daytoday operations of the Patient Access Registration Associates within assigned units. This role holds direct responsibility for PMG Registration Associates and indirect oversight of RCM vendor workloads. The Supervisor also serves as the primary liaison between regional management teams and revenue cycle management vendors. This position develops, recommends, and enforces policies and procedures related to Front-End Revenue Cycle Management. In addition, the Supervisor provides registration, billing, and administrative support to both internal teams and vendor partners.
• Communicate all updates to registration and billing processes and ensure staff are fully trained on new procedures.
• Ensure accurate and timely registration, insurance verification, and billing in alignment with policy standards.
• Monitor PBI worklists daily to ensure prompt followup and resolution of all hold codes and unbilled A/R items.
• Review OBR edit reports and Data Repair three times weekly to maintain accuracy and timeliness of registrations.
• Monitor claims manager reports to ensure all edits are worked and resolved promptly.
• Partner with leadership and staff to address unit-specific issues related to noncompliance with registration and billing guidelines.
• Provide retraining to associates as needed to address performance or quality issues.
• Review registration and eligibility denials and deliver timely feedback to support organizational goals.
• Participate in monthly conference calls to share best practices and process improvements.
• Complete requested projects, reports, and tasks for the Patient Access Registration Manager or Director.
• Conduct quarterly quality audits of individual associates’ work.
• Ensure compliance with all SOX key controls related to census reconciliation; maintain reconciliation within 10 days of admit date.
• Maintain CPT summaries of missing charges and registrations without charges within established thresholds.
• Verify timely entry of all discharge dates.
• Collaborate with Coding to resolve Vendor errors and implement corrective actions.
• Process PTO requests, timesheets, and related payroll documentation as required.
• Obtain and address feedback from the Collections Department regarding registration errors to prevent future issues.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college
4 years of healthcare related experience and 2 years of supervisory experience.
Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to work on projects and meet the overall objective, ability to meet pre-determined deadlines.
Ability to supervise, counsel, train, and develop staff.
Ability to be effective and efficient in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple competing tasks and priorities.
Ability to delegate assignments and follow through on details is essential.
Excellent interpersonal, written communication skills.
Software:
OBR, Master Database, PBI, pMD, BBS, GPMS, NextGen, MS Excel, Word, and Windows.
