About This Position

Sea Fox Boat Company is an industry leading, saltwater fishing boat manufacturer who is looking for a talented Facilities Maintenance technician. The Maintenance Technician for Sea Fox Boats is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on all equipment, machinery, and systems in the facility to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe operations. This includes working on boat production lines, machinery, electrical systems, and overall facility upkeep.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance and Repair:
    • Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs of manufacturing equipment and systems (e.g., CNC machines, molding machines, pumps, compressors, electrical systems, etc.).
    • Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure all equipment operates optimally and minimize downtime.
    • Replace defective parts, components, and systems as necessary to ensure production schedules are met.
  • Facility Maintenance:
    • Assist in maintaining the general upkeep of the facility, including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and other essential building systems.
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials, and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Troubleshooting:
    • Quickly and effectively troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions.
    • Work with production teams to address and resolve equipment-related issues during manufacturing processes.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, parts used, and maintenance schedules.
    • Provide detailed reports to the Maintenance Supervisor regarding any significant equipment issues or potential future maintenance needs.
  • Collaboration and Support:
    • Work closely with production teams to ensure minimal production downtime due to maintenance issues.
    • Assist with installing and setting up new equipment as required.
    • Provide support to other maintenance team members and participate in on-the-job training.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Follow all safety protocols and ensure that all maintenance tasks are carried out with proper safety equipment.
    • Maintain compliance with company policies, environmental regulations, and local/national safety standards.
Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Technical certification in industrial maintenance, mechanical/electrical engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance or a related field, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
    • Experience with boat manufacturing or marine-related systems is a plus.
    • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Skills:
    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work with a variety of hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.
    • Knowledge of blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Certifications (preferred):
    • Forklift certification, electrical safety training, or similar certifications are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, and work in tight spaces for extended periods.
  • Comfort working with heavy machinery and industrial equipment.
Work Environment:
  • This position works in a manufacturing facility, often in a noisy environment with fluctuating temperatures.
  • Work may involve exposure to chemicals, oils, and lubricants, requiring the use of protective equipment.Benefits Offered:
