About This Position
WDRB — the #1 news station in Louisville — is seeking an experienced and dynamic Executive Producer to help lead our newsroom’s nightly coverage. We’re looking for someone with strong news judgment, creative energy, and the ability to guide a team of veteran journalists to produce engaging, high-quality content across all WDRB platforms.

What You’ll Do- Supervise the nightside news team to ensure writing, content, and presentation meet WDRB standards
- Lead daily editorial coordination among producers, reporters, photographers, anchors, the assignment desk, digital, and news managers
- Oversee and improve the quality, tone, and energy of nightly newscasts
- Develop and execute special coverage for major events, sports, and breaking news
- Collaborate with production, design, sports, and weather to elevate our on-air product
- Ensure scripts are accurate, ethical, and compelling
- Step in to produce newscasts as needed
- Partner with the digital and streaming teams to deliver cohesive, cross-platform storytelling

- Strong writing and copy-editing skills for broadcast and digital
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and coach a newsroom team
- Calm, decisive demeanor under pressure
- Commitment to integrity, ethics, and the WDRB brand of journalism
- Collaborative spirit and positive attitude
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a broadcast news producer
- Proficiency with iNews, AVID, and AVID Cloud UX
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X)
