PART-TIME SENIOR CENTER TRANSPORTATION AND TRIP COORDINATOR

$21 per hour Up to 19.5 Hours per week, Four Days Per Week

SENIOR CENTER


This part-time position assists the Senior Center department with transportation and trip programs, front desk operations, and general administrative support.Examples of Duties

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

  1. Assists the department with the transportation and trip programs using senior center software.
  2. Registers, schedules, and assists eligible residents with their transportation needs. Such as rides to the senior center, medical appointments, and shopping trips.
  3. Greets and assists patrons with questions and referrals; answers phone calls and assists members with program registration.
  4. Performs front desk duties such as screening incoming calls, transferring and directing calls to appropriate staff, and taking messages as necessary.
  5. Assists in performing a variety of routine clerical tasks such as data entry, flyers, newsletters, data base management, email blasts, website and social media updates and member correspondence.
  6. Required to attend and support staff for large senior center events.
  7. Observes safety rules and regulations for events; ensures facility users are aware of rules and regulations.
  8. Performs related duties and other duties as assigned by supervisor.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Works under the direction of the Director.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications — Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Proficient computer skills including word processing, email communication, internet use, and spreadsheets.
  2. Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  3. Ability to respond courteously to the public, particularly senior citizens.
Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience working with older adults preferred but not required.
Special Requirements:
  • Ability to lift at least 40 lbs.
