This role is focused on ensuring the integrity, consistency, and security of automation systems across a global data center portfolio. You will define and enforce governance frameworks, review automation designs, and ensure compliance with corporate standards and cybersecurity requirements. Acting as a bridge between technical engineering and operational teams, this position involves auditing systems, tracking non-compliance findings, and driving corrective actions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain high-performance, reliable, and scalable automation solutions. This position provides an opportunity to influence automation best practices, optimize system efficiency, and contribute to the safe operation of mission-critical facilities. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic technical environment.
- Audit, review, and maintain standards, policies, and documentation for automation systems including PLC/SCADA coding, tag-path conventions, and system configurations
- Ensure new projects align with established automation standards and governance checkpoints
- Track non-compliance findings, technical debt, and corrective actions, maintaining a comprehensive automation risk register
- Collaborate with IT/OT Security teams to verify adherence to cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISA/IEC 62443)
- Assist senior engineers in updating standards based on new technologies or field learnings
- Coordinate cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, and Delivery teams to ensure operational excellence and regulatory compliance
Requirements:
- 1+ year experience in Industrial Automation SCADA development (2–3 years preferred)
- Knowledge of Ignition by Inductive Automation platform required
- Familiarity with industrial PLC systems (e.g., Rockwell Automation, Carel) and automation control loops in mission-critical environments
- Proficiency in MS Office and SharePoint; experience with GitHub, ClickUp, or CAD is a plus
- Strong documentation skills, including creation of detailed procedures and technical specifications
- Ability to travel up to 25%, potentially increasing with business growth
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills; proactive and detail-oriented
- Data center experience is preferred but not required
