SPVR LABORATORY at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center – Tampa, Florida

Position Highlights:

The Supervisor Laboratory maintains the high quality of laboratory functions by coordinating and overseeing the technical activities satellite lab during operational hours.

This role includes:

Supervision of the technical policies and procedures and management & supervision of staff.

Implementing new technology, maintaining quality control program, proficiency testing, competency testing, meeting all regulatory requirements (CAP, TJC, CLIA, etc.) related to routine chemistry, hematology, urinalysis and blood product issue, instrument maintenance and inventory management.

Other duties may include: budget preparation and review, review of billing, cost accounting, productivity management, maintenance and testing of the LIS system related to the satellite lab operations, and other duties as assigned by manager or director.

The Supervisor Laboratory shall provide required supervisor coverage as indicated in the CLIA regulations. The supervisor may also be required to fill in as a bench technologist as workload requires.

Minimum Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree – Medical Technology or equivalent field of Study
• State licensed Clinical Laboratory Medical Technologist with specialization in Chemistry, Immunology, Hematology and immunohematology, with Supervisor’s license required within one (1) year of accepting position.
• Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot technical problems is required, interact effectively and professionally with others and adapt positively to change.
• Ability to adapt positively to change and interact effectively and professionally with a wide variety of personalities. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred:

• Master’s Degree - Medical Technology or equivalent field of Study
• Minimum of 3 years’ laboratory supervisory experience is preferred, however 3-5 years’ experience in a similar setting will be considered in lieu of direct supervisory experience
