POSITION SUMMARY
-
Provide patient-centered nursing care in an ambulatory behavioral health setting. Working collaboratively with psychiatrists and advanced practice providers, this role supports the assessment, treatment, and ongoing management of patients with mental health disorders. Key responsibilities include symptom and medication monitoring, patient education, triage of clinical concerns, care coordination, and accurate documentation in the electronic health record. The nurse promotes continuity of care, ensures compliance with clinical standards, and contributes to safe, efficient clinic operations.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education
-
Graduate of a Registered Nurse program.

Minimum Experience-

Required Registration/License/Certification-
Licensed or eligible for licensing in the State of Alabama as RN.

BLS within 90 days of date of hire or transfer.

Preferred Education-
N/A

Preferred Experience-
- Previous nursing experience in outpatient psychiatry or behavioral health settings
- Experience working with patients with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and psychotic disorders
- Familiarity with psychotropic medications, side-effect monitoring, and medication management workflows
- Experience with psychiatric triage, crisis assessment, and risk evaluation
- Experience coordinating care with psychiatrists, therapists, primary care providers, and community resources
- Proficiency in electronic health record (HER) documentation
- Experience with prior authorizations, medication refills, and insurance processes
- Strong patient education and communication skills
