Systems Administrator at Vision Financial Group LLC – Des Moines, Iowa

We are seeking a hands-on Systems Administrator to serve as the infrastructure and security backbone for our growing firm in Des Moines, IA. Moving beyond the helpdesk, you will act as a "Cloud to Closet" builder, taking full ownership of our core environment from configuring Zero Trust policies to physically racking switches at our local offices. What You’ll Do

• IAM & Cloud Systems: Act as the primary administrator for our Identity and Access Management (IAM) architecture via JumpCloud, as well as our core Google Workspace environment. You will manage SSO/SAML integrations, automated user provisioning, and drive our Zero Trust/SASE deployments to ensure endpoints and data are locked down.
• Network Operations: Own the physical and logical network. You will manage, configure, and troubleshoot our networking hardware (Ubiquiti), including firewalls, VLANs, and VPNs.
• Endpoint Management & Automation: Use MDM solutions and scripting (PowerShell) to automate software deployments, patch management, and system configurations across our fleet.
• M&A Integrations: Assess the legacy IT environments of newly acquired wealth management firms, design the migration plan, and execute the cutover to bring them seamlessly and securely into our ecosystem.

Location: This position requires a strong local presence in the Des Moines, IA area. While we offer hybrid flexibility for deep-work days, you must be able to deploy physical networking gear in our primary and secondary local offices as needed.

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is $85,000 to $90,000 annually, dependent on your systems administration and networking experience.

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar infrastructure role.
• Strong understanding of routing, switching, VLANs, and firewall rules. Experience with Ubiquiti/UniFi gear is highly preferred.
• Proven experience managing IAM/cloud-based directories (JumpCloud, Entra ID/Azure AD, or Okta) and enterprise productivity suites (Google Workspace administration is highly preferred).
• Understand the fundamentals of securing an environment (MFA enforcement, least-privilege access, device compliance).
• Comfortable working in a server closet, running cables, and troubleshooting physical hardware when necessary.
