This role is responsible for ensuring a safe and compliant work environment on complex construction projects, including energy and infrastructure initiatives. The Site Safety Manager will develop and implement site-specific safety plans, conduct audits, and lead safety training for all personnel. You will monitor compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards, investigate incidents, and work collaboratively with project teams to implement corrective actions. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills who can foster a positive safety culture, manage high-risk activities, and maintain rigorous documentation. You will play a critical role in protecting personnel, ensuring operational continuity, and supporting project success in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Site-Specific Safety Plans and Activity Hazard Analyses for assigned projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, EPA requirements, and internal safety standards
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and follow-ups to maintain high safety standards on site
- Provide safety training to project personnel and subcontractors, including competent person training in excavation, scaffolding, fall protection, hazardous energy, and confined space
- Review subcontractor safety qualifications and participate in pre-construction meetings
- Lead accident and incident investigations and implement corrective action plans
- Foster a positive safety culture and maintain all required safety certifications
- Prepare and submit safety reports, participate in quarterly project safety meetings, and collaborate with project teams to address safety challenges
- Maintain professional communication with customers, coworkers, supervisors, and management
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Safety Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of construction industry safety experience, preferably on complex projects
- Completion of at least 24 hours of formal safety training annually for the past 5 years, covering core areas of competency including excavation, scaffolding, fall protection, hazardous energy, confined space, and health hazard recognition
- Construction Health and Safety Technician Certification, EM385-1-1 40-Hr Safety Certification, OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification, First Aid & CPR Certification, NFPA 70 certification
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and other basic computer tools
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent grammar, and professional presentation
- Organized, proactive, and able to effectively communicate safety expectations across project teams
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently for project oversight
- Competitive base salary: $92,000 – $134,000 annually
