Miami Children's Museum Charter School is looking for passionate and dedicated Afterschool Instructors to join our team! If you love working with children, creating meaningful learning experiences, and inspiring creativity, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

As an Afterschool Instructor, you will lead a classroom of students, design engaging lesson plans, and ensure a safe and positive environment where children can learn, explore, and grow.

What You'll Do

• Supervise and ensure the safety and wellbeing of children in your care.
• Develop and implement lesson plans that are creative, engaging, and aligned with curriculum goals (lesson plans submitted weekly).
• Foster children’s growth through art, music, storytelling, science, math, and hands-on exploration.
• Track attendance and maintain accurate records.
• Encourage positive behavior through proactive strategies, incentives, and redirection.
• Support language development, confidence-building, and problem-solving skills.
• Work collaboratively with schoolteachers, afterschool staff, and Museum team members.
• Communicate with parents and caregivers in a professional and positive manner.
• Attend required staff trainings and complete yearly in-service coursework.
• Other duties as assigned

• Working toward an Associate’s degree (or higher) in Education or related field (two years of college credits may substitute).
• At least 1 year of experience leading groups of children in an educational setting (Museum experience a plus).
• Strong organizational and classroom management skills.
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Must pass a Level 2 background screening (fingerprints) and drug test.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification (or willingness to obtain).
