About This Position

Position Title: MIG Welder - 2nd Shift

Location: Gastonia, North Carolina

HTI is seeking an experienced MIG Welder (1st Shift) for a manufacturing client. This role is critical to maintaining production throughput and quality standards on the manufacturing floor. This position is Direct Hire, M-F 1st shift. The pay range is $20 - $32+/hr depending on experience.

What You Need:
  • Technical or vocational welding training preferred
  • 3–5+ years of welding experience (additional experience strongly preferred)
  • Strong MIG welding experience (required)
  • TIG welding experience and AWS C-1 certification preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols
  • Familiarity with welding machines, including tips, nozzles, and general equipment troubleshooting
  • Ability to pass a hands-on MIG welding test
  • Knowledge of welding safety standards and manufacturing best practices
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various positions for extended periods
  • Ability to work in a non-climate controlled, fast-paced manufacturing environment

What Your Role Will Look Like:
The MIG Welder will be responsible for production welding activities while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards. This individual must be team-oriented, reliable, and capable of working independently once trained.
  • Perform production MIG welding to fabricate, assemble, or repair metal components
  • Set up and operate welding equipment, selecting proper tools, gases, wire, electrodes, tips, and nozzles
  • Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cleaning and removing contaminants
  • Inspect materials and completed welds to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Conduct welding tests and make adjustments to achieve optimal weld integrity
  • Maintain welding equipment through routine inspection and minor maintenance
  • Follow all safety protocols and PPE requirements at all times
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet production goals
  • Support team operations by assisting others as needed without disrupting established processes
  • Work autonomously once trained, provided quality and safety standards are met
  • Additional duties as needed and assigned
