Position Information


The EAOP Regional Assistant Director is responsible for managing and implementing all aspects of the Early Academic Outreach Program in their assigned region. They will serve as the primary EAOP contact at school sites, advise program participants and their families on post-secondary educational and career options, and collaborate with counselors, the Office of Admissions, Financial Aid, and the Career Center.In addition, this role also includes hiring and training University Mentors, planning and coordinating activities that support college admission and enrollment. This is a full-time career position.The salary range for the EAOP Regional Assistant Director is $57,700–$99,300 annually. However, the expected pay scale is up to $62,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Strong knowledge of up-to-date information on K-12 and higher education policies and issues. Ability to assess their impact on program strategies. Knowledge of K-12 and higher education institutions (UC, CSU, CC, etc.), admissions and financial aid requirements, and the ability to interpret policies and procedures to youth, parents, and school representatives. Knowledge of youth and adolescent development theory, including issues facing low-income, first generation urban youth. Ability to establish and maintains cooperative relationships with school district administrators, school counselors, principals, teachers, and community contacts. Strong knowledge of high school graduation and college entrance requirements. Demonstrated cultural competency with respect to race, ethnicity, and socio-economic status. Strong communications (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Significant experience advising and supporting educationally disadvantaged students regarding postsecondary opportunities and careers. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of the California Community College Higher Educational System, its admission requirements and outreach services.
