We are seeking a Director of Brand Experience to lead the visual design practice across digital products, ensuring that brand expression is cohesive, compelling, and consistently applied. This role defines and evolves the visual language, elevates design craft, and embeds brand thinking early in product strategy. You will lead a small, high-impact team of visual designers, collaborating closely with Design Systems, Content Design, Brand Strategy, and Marketing to deliver scalable, high-quality experiences. The position combines strategic leadership, hands-on design expertise, and cross-functional influence to ensure that speed in product development does not compromise clarity, quality, or brand consistency. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, and innovation-driven environment.
- Shape and evolve the product visual language, ensuring consistent expression of brand personality across apps, websites, and digital experiences.
- Lead a team of visual designers across identity, motion, and illustration, providing creative direction, coaching, and feedback to elevate craft and quality.
- Establish visual standards, guidelines, and scalable systems integrated into design workflows, AI-enabled tooling, and shared design components.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Design Systems, Content Design, and Marketing to ensure cohesive brand experiences.
- Influence product strategy by embedding brand and design thinking from the early stages of planning and execution.
- Identify opportunities to improve visual quality and user experience, maintaining excellence while supporting accelerated development timelines.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance within the design organization.
Requirements:
- Preferred degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in visual, brand, or digital design, including defining visual language in digital products.
- 7+ years of leadership experience, with at least 5 years managing and developing design teams.
- Strong expertise in visual design, motion, iconography, and illustration with a portfolio demonstrating leadership and craft.
- Experience working in technology or product-led environments, collaborating closely with Product and Engineering teams.
- Proven ability to translate vision into execution, create scalable standards, and integrate visual systems into workflows and tools.
- Excellent communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable leading early-stage product design decisions and identifying opportunities proactively.
- Experience fostering team growth through mentorship, education, and skill development.
