Pay: $16-&18 per hour

About the Role

Koopman Lumber is looking for a reliable and customer-focused Part-Time Cashier to join our team at our Grafton location. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and being part of a fast-paced retail environment.

This role is ideal for someone who can consistently work weekday afternoons (2:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday) and has full availability on Saturdays.

What You’ll Do

Operate the cash register, process transactions, and handle payments accurately
Assist customers in person and over the phone with questions, pricing, and product location
Issue receipts, refunds, store credits, and gift cards as needed
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked front-end area
Answer phones and direct calls appropriately
Support the team with general store tasks as needed
Provide a friendly, positive experience for every customer

What You Bring

Previous cashier or retail experience preferred Strong customer service and communication skills Comfortable handling cash and basic math Reliable and able to maintain a consistent schedule Ability to stay organized and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a retail or hardware/lumber environment Familiarity with building materials or home improvement products Forklift experience (or willingness to be trained)

Physical Demands

Ability to stand for extended periods of time Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed Frequent bending, reaching, and movement throughout the store Occasional work outdoors depending on store needs
