About This Position
Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is one of the largest privately-held architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast.
GMC is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to join our Greenville, SC team and provide support on water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This individual will provide technical design for both linear and plant work, as well as project management on municipal drinking and wastewater projects in Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina.
The ideal candidate will apply technical expertise to support routine engineering projects, ensuring quality and cross-discipline coordination, guiding staff, engaging with clients and regulators, and contributing to continuous improvement and professional developmentResponsibilities and Duties
- Designs a complete project, system component or process
- Prepares complete project documents
- Analyzes and interprets data and formulates and solves problems
- Understands economic and decision analysis principals in area including financial, regulatory and environmental issues
- Assigns tasks to and directs engineers, technicians and administrative staff
- Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of the engineering work
- Prepares scopes, budgets and schedules for assignments
- Assists with proposals to provide professional services of obtains funding for engineering projects or programs
- Interacts with clients, officials, contractors and others
- Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignment
- Demonstrates leadership skills and continuous improvement with decision making, time management and delegation
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- 4+ years of experience
- Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, Revit
- PE license
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Valid Driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
Work Environment
This position requires work to be performed in an office environment and in the field. Work done in the field may consist of exposure to various types of weather and temperatures. Engineers may also be exposed to pollutants, chemicals, insects, and possibly water-borne pathogens. Employees are required to wear appropriate protective clothing and gear when performing fieldwork.
Travel
Engineers will be expected to travel to various work sites to perform fieldwork. Company cars and/or rental vehicles shall be utilized to travel between to work sites.
