About This Position
Description:
* Must be located in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex*
As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining FiberLight’s complex network infrastructure. You will work closely with other engineering teams to ensure the growth, resiliency, and health of the network to provide state of the art, reliable services. Your expertise in routing protocols, network architecture, and large-scale Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking will be crucial in driving our network initiatives forward.
Essential Job Functions
- Design, implement, and manage large-scale network infrastructures per company deployment standards.
- Configure and troubleshoot BGP, OSPF, and IS-IS routing protocols.
- Able to implement large-scale Layer 3 and MPLS networks.
- Ability to understand fiber optic-based service delivery and backbone connectivity.
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades, including service patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
- Conduct network modeling and analysis to construct a reliable, high-performance integrated network.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior network engineers.
- Conduct network performance analysis and optimization.
- Ensure network security and compliance with industry standards.
- Document network designs, configurations, and procedures.
- 10+ years of experience with large-scale networks.
- Extensive experience with BGP, OSPF, and IS-IS routing protocols.
- Extensive experience with large-scale Layer 2, Layer 3, and MPLS networks.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Extensive experience with Juniper, Cisco, and other major manufacturers’ network equipment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., JNCIS or JNCIP) are a plus.
- Experience with network security practices and technologies.
