RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and oversee daily transportation, hauling, and support operations to ensure reliable service delivery and environmental compliance.
• Drive superior customer service while ensuring refuse and recyclables are handled safely without environmental impact.
• Develop, track, and analyze operational KPIs to improve processes, efficiency, and service performance.
• Contribute to the development and management of divisional and district operating budgets.
• Conduct thorough root cause investigations for incidents, injuries, or service failures; implement corrective actions through training, retraining, or discipline as needed.
• Participate in hiring, coaching, performance evaluations, and employee development; provide input on promotions, compensation, bonuses, and terminations.
• Establish short- and long-term operational goals and action plans in collaboration with senior leadership.
• Participate in regular P&L reviews to ensure effective cost control, labor utilization, equipment maintenance, and resource allocation.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with municipal agencies, community stakeholders, and customers.
• Partner with HR and Safety teams to address employee relations issues and support training initiatives.
• Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of safety programs to reduce risk and promote a strong safety culture.
• Conduct routine route observations to ensure compliance with service standards and regulatory requirements.
• Optimize routing and scheduling to maximize efficiency of vehicles, equipment, and personnel.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and all federal, state, and local regulations.
• Respond to critical operational incidents as required, including after-hours situations.
• Assess daily and seasonal workload demands to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
• Maintain a professional, positive, and customer-focused approach at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associates degree or equivalent experience; minimum of 3 years in transportation, construction, or waste services.
• Minimum 5 years of management experience in a complex operational environment.
• Strong project management, resource planning, and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to lead, delegate, motivate, and develop teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related business applications.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Solid understanding of DOT and OSHA regulations.
• Experience managing budgets, performance metrics, and employee relations.
• Ability to navigate complex, dynamic operational challenges with sound judgment and urgency.
