Job Title: Maintenance - Shop Hand

Location: 2251 Silver Creek Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76108

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Position Type: Full time

Typical Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:00 am - 3:00 pm, Saturday 7:00 am - 1:00 pm, as needed.

Pay Range: $17.00 per hour

About the role:

A Shop Hand assists technicians, maintenance workers, and supervisors in the daily operations

of a maintenance shop. They support the team with general labor tasks, equipment management,

and ensuring the shop is organized and ready for work. They may handle tools, parts, materials,

and assist with simple repairs or maintenance tasks as needed.

What you'll do:

• Tool and Equipment Management
• • Organize and maintain tools, equipment, and materials in the shop.
  • Ensure tools are in good working condition and report any damaged or broken items.
  • Help technicians by retrieving tools and equipment as needed.
• Cleaning and Organization:
• • Keep the shop area clean and free of hazards.
  • Sweep, mop, and dispose of waste materials to maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Organize workstations and materials for efficient use.
• Assisting Technicians:
• • Provide support to technicians during maintenance, repairs, or installations.
  • Hand tools or parts to technicians and assist with minor repairs.
  • Assist with lifting heavy items or moving materials around the shop.
• Basic Maintenance Tasks:
• • Assist with basic maintenance work such as lubricating machines, changing filters, or cleaning equipment.
  • Help in the assembly or disassembly of machinery and tools under the direction of senior technicians.
• Safety and Compliance:
• • Follow all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist in maintaining safety standards in the shop environment.
  • Ensure hazardous materials are disposed of according to regulations.
• General Labor Support:
• • Perform various labor tasks such as lifting, carrying, or assembling parts as needed.
  • Run errands within the shop or to nearby locations (e.g., fetching parts or supplies).

Qualifications & Skills:

• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy items, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
• Basic Tool Knowledge: Familiarity with basic hand tools and machinery.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to organize tools and materials efficiently.
• Safety Awareness: Knowledge of workplace safety protocols and commitment to a safe work environment.
• Communication: Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Teamwork: Willingness to work closely with other workers and assist where needed.
