About This Position

The Meadowbrook School of Weston, a junior kindergarten through 8th grade school located in Weston, MA, seven miles west of Boston, is seeking an Assistant Director of Equity and Inclusion to join our faculty starting July 1, 2026 (start date is flexible). This is a year-round, full-time, non-exempt role that reports to the Assistant Head of School, Academics and Inclusion. The salary range is $70,000 to $80,000 per year.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Take a lead role in the planning, implementation, and iterative growth of the AWARE (All Working at Racial Equity) curriculum for students in JK through Grade 8.
  • Support the Assistant Head of School in facilitating and sustaining student affinity and alliance groups, including Meadowbrook Students of Color (MSOC), ETC. (LGBTQIA+), Kehilla (Jewish identity) Asian Affinity, and Neurodivergent Alliance Space, while remaining responsive to emerging student needs for new spaces.
  • Partner with faculty and teaching teams to ensure inclusive pedagogical practices and diverse perspectives are integrated across various subject areas.
  • Serve as a visible, accessible resource for students, providing mentorship and support as they navigate their identities and sense of belonging within the school.
  • Collaborate with the Parent Association (PA) and the Office of Equity & Inclusion to support parent education, family programming, and outreach.
  • Navigate social-emotional or community-based conflicts with a restorative and educational mindset.
  • Assist with the strategic planning, marketing, and execution of the annual Multicultural Teaching Institute (MTI), a professional development conference at Meadowbrook.
  • Design and facilitate internal professional development sessions for faculty and staff on topics of cultural competency and inclusive classroom management.
  • Manage the day-to-day administrative needs of the Office of Equity & Inclusion, including event scheduling, budget tracking for programs, and internal communications.
  • Actively participate in the daily life of the school, including presence during lunch, arrival, and dismissal duties, to build authentic relationships with students and families.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for all major school-wide equity initiatives as directed by the Assistant Head of School, Academics and Inclusion.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements/Competencies:

  • Previous experience in equity, inclusion and belonging focused work
  • A deep understanding of the developmental stages of JK - 8 students and how to talk about identity in age-appropriate ways.
  • Excellent written and communication skills, comfortable speaking in front of audiences; group facilitation experience preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to bridge perspectives among students, faculty, and parents.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage program logistics while maintaining daily student-facing responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in Spanish and/or Mandarin is strongly preferred but not required.
