SAP S/4HANA Technical Lead/Developer at Sev1tech, Inc. – Remote, Virginia

Sev1Tech is seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA professional with a strong understanding of SAP development lifecycles, testing and release management, and the integration of DevSecOps practices within SAP landscapes. This role requires hands-on experience with modern SAP development tools, transport and release coordination, and secure, automated delivery practices.

SAP Development & Tooling

• Design, develop, and support SAP S/4HANA solutions using ABAP, CDS views, OData services, and SAP Fiori.
• Utilize ABAP Development Tools (ADT) in Eclipse for modern SAP development, debugging, and code management.
• Follow SAP Clean Core and extensibility best practices.

Development Lifecycle & Release Management

• Demonstrate strong understanding of SAP development cycles, including:
• Requirements analysis and technical design.
• Build and configuration.
• Unit, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.
• Transport and release management across SAP landscapes (DEV, QA, PRE-PROD, PROD).
• Plan and execute SAP release cycles, including transport sequencing, cutover activities, and post-release validation.
• Support change and release governance processes.

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Implement and support SAP testing strategies, including:
• ABAP unit testing.
• Integration and regression testing.
• Automated testing using SAP or third-party tools.
• Ensure quality gates are met prior to production deployment.

DevSecOps & Automation

• Integrate DevSecOps practices into SAP development and operations, including:
• CI/CD pipeline integration for SAP development.
• Source code version control using Git-based repositories.
• Automated quality, security, and compliance checks.
• Support and integrate SAP tools such as gCTS, CTS+, and SAP BTP where applicable.
• Collaborate with security teams to embed secure coding, vulnerability scanning, and audit controls early in the lifecycle.
• Releasing updates in a Central and Remote server configuration.

SAP System Provisioning & Maintenance

• Work with Basis and infrastructure teams using SAP Software Provisioning Manager (SWPM) for:
• System installations and copies.
• Landscape refreshes and system provisioning activities.
• Provide technical input for environment planning and lifecycle maintenance.

Collaboration & Leadership

• Partner with functional, Basis, security, and infrastructure teams.
• Participate in technical design reviews, code reviews, and release readiness assessments.
• Mentor junior SAP developers and promote best practices.

• 5+ years of SAP development experience, including S/4HANA
• Hands-on experience with ABAP Development Tools (Eclipse/ADT)
• Strong understanding of SAP development lifecycles, testing, and release management
• Experience integrating DevOps or DevSecOps practices within SAP environments
• Working knowledge of SAP transport management and landscape coordination
• Currently hold a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance

• Experience with SAP Software Provisioning Manager (SWPM)
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, Azure DevOps, or similar
• Familiarity with SAP BTP, Fiori, and modern SAP extensibility models
• Experience with SAP test automation tools (SAP CBTA, Tricentis, etc.)
• Experience supporting S/4HANA implementations or migrations
• Navy or federal contracting experience
