About This Position

Description:

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct weekly group supervision for MultisystemicTherapy – Building Stronger Families (MST-BSF) team to assure adherence to MST Principles and the MST Analytic Process.

2. Conduct regularly scheduled individual supervision to target clinician competency needs and promote effective implementation of Multisystemic Therapy – Building Stronger Families (MST-BSF) treatment.

3. Provide supportive and corrective feedback to clinicians including role play and practice, attending field visits with clinicians, acting as co-therapist in sessions, listening to audiotapes/viewing videotapes.

4. Provide direct clinical training to assure clinician competency in all clinical areas related to the implementation of Multisystemic Therapy – Building Stronger Families (MST-BSF) interventions.

5. Ensure that each clinician has a Clinician Development Plan, and that the Family Resource Specialist has a Development Plan, that is reviewed monthly and revised quarterly.

6. Oversee Quality Assurance and Continuous Quality Improvement tasks for the team as outlined in the MST manuals.

7. Meet with the MST Expert for Supervisor Development meetings as advised by the MST Expert.

8. As a new supervisor, attend weekly Convergence meetings with the MST Expert until the MST Expert discontinues them based on supervisor adherence to the model (approximately 1 year).

9. Assure that assessments are comprehensive, multisystemic, and provide adequate information to determine the causes and correlates of referral behaviors to direct effective treatment within the ecological context.

10. Assure appropriate documentation of clinical effort to allow for peer and supervisory input, and to meet all reporting and communication needs of agency, funder, and referral sources.

11. Assure availability of clinical and administrative support to clinicians 24/7.

12. Assure that clinicians achieve engagement with all key participants.

13. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with referral sources, service providers, and other stakeholders.

14. Build relationships with community and statewide organizations, groups and resources and represent the agency in related neighborhood and community meetings, groups, and committees.

15. Collaborate with Multisystemic Therapy – Building Stronger Families (MST-BSF) Expert to provide feedback, resources, and training to all team members.

16. Oversee delivery of the weekly Social Club recovery support group intervention.

17. Work with the Family Services Research Center at the Medical University of South Carolina to ensure that all required data are collected.

18. Support weekly Multisystemic Therapy – Building Stronger Families (MST-BSF) consultation.

19. Attend staff and other agency and program required meetings.

20. Complete all record keeping activities as required by the agency and its funding sources.

21. Assist in the development and presentation of child abuse prevention and family strengthening activity materials related to parenting with mental health, substance abuse, homelessness and/or HIV/AIDS.

22. Prepare for, attend, and actively participate in regularly scheduled supervisory meetings with the Director of Clinical Programs.

11. Attend educational training in related areas.

12. Promote the agency’s services, programs, image, and philosophy to the public.

13. Responsible for managing own time and schedule.

14. Perform any other reasonably related duties assigned by the Director of Clinical Programs.

15. Maintain timely, accurate, organized, and complete individual case files.

16. Maintain strict confidentiality.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, or Licensed Marital & Family Therapist with five years combined direct service and supervisory experience preferred. Preferred experience includes direct use of pragmatic (i.e., structural, strategic, and functional) family therapies, cognitive behavioral techniques, substance abuse treatment, trauma treatment for adults and children using exposure, cognitive therapies and stress inoculation training, and implementation of interventions within or between systems in the family’s natural ecology.

Preferred knowledge in issues related to trauma, trauma informed service provision, child abuse prevention, family violence, mental health, substance abuse, and child development. Experience in individual and group work with children and families. Demonstrated problem-solving, and both written and verbal communication skills. Computer literacy required. Must have comfort in making home visits, own car, a CT driver’s license in good standing, and agency-required auto insurance.
