This role is a high-impact commercial leadership position focused on driving growth across key supermarket and grocery retail accounts in the Western U.S. You will own strategic relationships with major national and regional retailers, shaping joint business plans and delivering revenue and profitability targets. Acting as the primary point of contact for key accounts, you will collaborate closely with distributor partners and internal cross-functional teams to execute category growth strategies. The role combines strategic planning, analytical rigor, and hands-on account management in a fast-paced consumer goods environment. You will be responsible for expanding distribution, optimizing promotional effectiveness, and securing premium shelf placement and merchandising opportunities. This position is ideal for a results-driven sales professional who thrives in building long-term customer partnerships and delivering measurable business outcomes.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will be responsible for managing and growing strategic grocery retail accounts while delivering on volume, revenue, and profitability goals. You will develop tailored account strategies, strengthen customer relationships, and ensure strong execution of joint business plans.

  • Develop and execute account-specific strategies to drive growth at both category and product levels across assigned grocery retailers.
  • Build and maintain joint business plans with retail partners and distributors, aligning on goals, forecasting, and execution priorities.
  • Own revenue, volume, and profitability targets while managing trade spend, budgets, and promotional investments effectively.
  • Lead promotional planning, merchandising initiatives, and distribution expansion, including new product introductions and planogram optimization.
  • Conduct regular business performance reviews with customers, analyzing category trends, promotion effectiveness, and forecast accuracy.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to ensure aligned execution and customer success.
  • Monitor market and account performance, identifying risks and opportunities to improve sales outcomes and efficiency.
Requirements

The ideal candidate brings strong national or key account management experience within the grocery or supermarket channel, with a proven ability to deliver results in complex retail environments. You combine strategic thinking with strong analytical and communication skills and are comfortable managing senior-level customer relationships.

  • 5+ years of sales or national account management experience in CPG, grocery, or supermarket channels (Albertsons experience strongly preferred).
  • Proven track record of delivering sales growth, profitability, and account-level business objectives.
  • Strong understanding of retail dynamics, category management, and trade spend optimization.
  • Experience working with distributor-led or DSD (Direct Store Delivery) models is highly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
